Against all odds, two formidable men – Russian maestro Valery Gergiev and Canadian architect Jack Diamond – are building an iconic structure, the Mariinsky II Opera House in the heart of St. Petersburg, Russia. At stake are their professional reputations and Russia’s cultural prestige.
