Listone Giordano Finishes and Grades
Finishes
Listone Giordano® Classica is available with the following finishes.
XPLUS2
Acrylic, U.V. cured, 100% dry residue (solvent free) varnish are applied; these varnishes are specifically designed to obtain the best results in terms of resistance to wear (more than 30.000 Taber rotations – test performed by CS10 grindstone, abrasion until the wood is exposed), elasticity of the varnish, adherence to the wood and transparency. XPlus22 finish has a smooth surface, sleek satin appearance with a fully compact pore and a surface reflectance of approximately 18 gloss.
NATURPLUS 2
Acrylic, U.V. cured, 100% dry residue (solvent free) varnishes are applied; these varnishes are specifically designed to obtain excellent results in terms of resistance to surface abrasion (more than 10.000 Taber rotations – test performed by CS10 grindstone, abrasion until the wood is exposed), elasticity of the varnish, adherence to the wood and transparency.
NaturPlus2 finish is only available with a brushed finish: a special treatment is performed on the wood’s surface before the varnish is applied in order to accentuate the appearance of the wood’s natural pores and fibres. The surface reflectance of the NaturPlus2 finish has a value of approximately 7 gloss.
NATURPLUS2 MATT
Solvent free painting which enhances the grain and authenticity of the wood, emphasizing the natural matt character,
INVISIBLE TOUCH
Water-based finish, has the characteristic of protecting the wood whilst maintaining the typical appearance and colour of an
untreated hardwood floor.
The specific application technique open pore allows the varnish offering a natural appearance, both visual and tactile.
OLEONATURE
Air-dried natural oils-based finish. The oils-based finish incorporates colour pigments in some products such as Oak “Michelangelo”. Before finishing is applied, some wood species undergo a brushing treatment, to remove the soft parts, highlighting the wood pores and fibres. Thanks to the industrially applied final protective coating, the Oleonature finish ensures easy maintenance compared to other oil finishes and better resistance against household liquids’ penetration.
Products with natural oil finishing tend to get a yellowish colour tone, should these products be kept, for instance, in the boxes for a longtime or not being exposed to light and air. It’s an utterly natural and transitory phenomenon.
This effect is reversible within a few days and the wood can restore its original appearance, once the boards are exposed to air
and direct sunlight whilst in an environment with artificial light it may take up to few weeks.
Listone Giordano® Classica Oak is also available in the Pre-sanded version with a surface ready to be finished on site after the
installation.
Oak wood species is available both in the natural version (Puro) and in the various colours of the Michelangelo version: Biancospino, Carvi, Tamarindo, Tortora, Testa di Moro, Shetland, Cemento, Creta, Cashmere, Lino, Montblanc, Bianco Assoluto. Wood is a natural material, therefore colour tone and absorption of the finish may vary from one board to the other, or even in the same board according to the variation of its fibre. These colour tone variation is visible even after the application of colour pigments proving the authenticity and the uniqueness of each board. All the above mentioned finishing are complying with antibacterial Crystalcare technology.
Grades
Listone Giordano® Classica is available with the following grades.
RIGATA SUPERIORE
Straight grain, light colour and substantially homogenous, presence of medullary ray on the majority of the wooden boards.
ELITE
Mixed grain, substantially homogeneous colour in relation to the typical characteristics of the species. Possible small knots in some woods species.
FIBRAMIX
Mixed grain. Some boards may show colour variations and knots. In the extra-wide boards (from 140 mm width) knots may be even tight and open.
UNICA
Mixed grain and colour variation. Presence of knots both filled and open ones. Some wood boards may show sapwood according to the different wood species.
COUNTRY
Mixed grain and colour variation. Widespread presence of knots both tight and open ones
